The winner for this year’s Golden Boy is set to be announced in a few weeks, and as is usually the case; FC Barcelona are very well represented in the list of players who have been selected in the final list for this award.
Two Barcelona players, Lamine Yamal and Alejandro Balde, are in contention for this award, while Gavi and Pedri have been the winners in its last two editions. The favorite to win this time around is Real Madrid’s new player, Jude Bellingham, who is having a season to remember in his new club.
PSG youngster praises Yamal
Another notable player in the final list for the Golden Boy Award is Warren Zaïre-Emery, who has been putting in very good performances with PSG at a very young age.
SPORT reports that the Paris Saint-Germain youngster has recently appeared in an interview with Tuttosport, the Italian newspaper that awards the Golden Boy title, and one of the subjects that he talked about in this interview was that of Lamine Yamal.
When asked about the Barcelona youngster, Zaire-Emery replied: “He’s a talent, and the numbers already speak in his favor.”
Jorge Mendes represents quality
One of the things that Zaire-Emery shares with the Barcelona youngster, Lamine Yamal, is their agent, as they both are represented by the Portuguese superagent, Jorge Mendes. Zaire-Emery highlighted that he was convinced of Yamal’s ability by the mere fact that he was represented by Mendes, as the agent “knows how to choose his clients.”
Like Lamine Yamal, Zaire-Emery is also having a great season under the former FC Barcelona manager, Luis Enrique. The youngster has scored one goal and given five assists in twelve appearances this season, three of the assists having been provided in the UEFA Champions League.
