FC Barcelona completely dismantle Bayern Munich as they finally blow away their old ghosts. Despite the Bavarian giants arriving at the Montjuic Stadium in great form, they were left speechless by Hansi Flick’s team. Beyond just the three points, Barcelona finally get their big revenge.

A 4-1 demolition of the side from the Bundesliga, Barcelona saw players like Raphinha, Marc Casado, and Lamine Yamal come in with huge performances for this game. Beyond just them, however, almost every single Barcelona player put in their all and decimated this Bayern team.

Here are the Barcelona player ratings.

Player Ratings:

Inaki Pena: 7.5

Did not get to do much in terms of needing to make saves but his ball distribution was much better in the second half than it was in the first half. Despite being a bit cagey at times, the Barcelona goalkeeper gradually eased into the game.

Jules Kounde: 8.5

The Frenchman had an immense display against Bayern Munich as he was able to show off his technical qualities while also being defensively vigilante of his duties at all times. Top performance from the former Sevilla man.

Pau Cubarsi: 8.0

Majestic at the back and never looked like a 17-year-old on the pitch, the Spaniard was top-class in terms of both ball-playing and his defensive work. Brilliant work from the La Masia gem.

Inigo Martinez: 8.5

Right alongside Pau Cubarsi, Inigo Martinez was amazing at the back. He was crucial in both stopping most Bayern Munich attacks and was just as important in passing out from the back. Limited Bayern Munich to only one goal.

Alejandro Balde: 8.0

The Spanish fullback may not have had a lot of contributions in attack, but his defensive work was integral in helping Barcelona win this game. Simply a rock at the back that Bayern Munich really found difficult to bypass from time to time.

Marc Casado: 9.5

Marc Casado was the piece that allowed Barcelona to dominate Bayern Munich as they did. Consistently recovering balls for his teammates and even putting out a world-class assist to Raphinha, the La Masia talent continues to show why he is one of Hansi Flick’s most important players.

Pedri: 9.5

Is there anything Pedri can not do? The Barcelona Golden Boy was running circles around the Bayern midfield and they simply could not do anything about him. His touches were flawless as he glided across the pitch and dispatched passes in a way that the German side could simply not keep up with.

Lamine Yamal: 9.0

The amount of cheers in the Barcelona crowd were both a mix of the goals and the rest were mostly Lamine Yamal’s individual work. Beyond just delivering a beautiful assist to Raphinha that helped him complete his hattrick, Yamal toyed with the Bayern defenders from start to finish with his flair and trickery. Beautiful to watch.

Fermin Lopez: 9.0

Some intense pressure and workrate from Fermin Lopez was exactly what Barcelona needed to counter Bayern Munich’s early onslaught. With two assists to his name, the young Spaniard was the perfect decision by Hansi Flick to start as his primary attacking midfielder.

Raphinha: 10

What a captain. What a player. Take a bow, Raphinha. A hattrick of the highest order showed exactly what Barcelona have found in Raphinha this season. Beyond just being a top tier leader for the Catalan giants on the field, the Brazilian forward scored three immense goals for Barcelona and all three of them were absolutely sensational. Deserved standing ovation for the captain.

Robert Lewandowski: 7.5

Even though he scored a crucial goal for Barcelona when they needed it by being at the right place at the right time, and despite having some decent hold-up play, Robert Lewandowski was a bit slow on occasions. Could have done more when he had possession of the ball and should have scored a few more.

Substitutes:

Frenkie de Jong: 7.0

The Dutchman was a composed figure in midfield and gave Barcelona a lot more control with him on the field. Solid appearance from the Barcelona captain.

Dani Olmo: 7.5

Reminded every single teammate and Barcelona fan exactly why he has been missed so much. Some amazing passes and a commanding aura that La Blaugrana were more than happy to have on the pitch.
