There are three main candidates that FC Barcelona are keeping in their mind to strengthen the left-wing position this summer, i.e., Luis Diaz, Nico Williams, and Dani Olmo.
The Liverpool forward is the favorite of Deco, while Hansi Flick and several Barcelona stars prefer Nico Williams, and the Blaugranes are getting increasingly confident that they can sign Nico Williams without selling any of their stars this summer.
But Dani Olmo has also been linked with the club for a long time now, and his past at the Barcelona youth academy also makes him a highly alluring option for the Blaugranes. As SPORT has reported, the Spaniard recently appeared in an interview with MARCA, and talked a bit about his future:
“Hopefully, we’ll celebrate the title with my teammates, and then we’ll see what happens. You all know what’s in my contract, so… I’m here, happy, content, and trying to enjoy the experience to the fullest. Whatever has to happen at the club will be seen later.”
The RB Leipzig star was referring to the release clause of €60 million in his contract that will remain active till 15th July. The forward has already acknowledged that a return to Barcelona is an option for him, while some reports claim that he is eagerly looking forward for a return to his boyhood club.
But for now, as the player himself commented, he would be fully focused on his national side duties. He is set to face the hosts Germany in one of the most anticipated quarter-final ties of the UEFA EURO 2024 and will be looking to help his team get over this difficult obstacle to get another step closer to the title.
Up to now, he has not been a regular starter for Luis de la Fuente in the European competition, but he has still played an important role for the team coming from the bench.
