FC Barcelona have some clear ideas on what they want to achieve in this summer transfer window. Their top transfer target is the Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, while they are also trying to tie down the RB Leipzig forward, Dani Olmo.

In recent days, optimism about Barcelona’s ability to sign Nico has declined significantly. On the other hand, reports indicated that the Catalans are getting closer to signing Dani Olmo.

The operation to sign Olmo would have been easier than that of Nico Williams, especially keeping in view Olmo’s previous association with the club. However, an agreement between the two clubs is yet to be reached, and Barcelona have already seen their second offer rejected for the Spaniard. Thus, signing the RB Leipzig forward would not be easy in any way.

This has been made clear by the RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose, who has been facing a barrage of questions about his team’s star forward for the last few days.

As SPORT has reported, the German manager made it clear in a recent media appearance with Sky Sport that while negotiations are underway for Olmo’s signing, any side interested in signing the player will have to pay the price that he deserves:

“The player has a value that he earned with us. He developed wonderfully. Everyone knows what Dani Olmo is worth. Any club that wants him must offer a price that matches his level.”

Signing both Olmo and a left winger will be a significant improvement for Barcelona’s squad, with Lamine Yamal and Robert Lewandowski already present to lead the attacking line. However, to be able to do that, the Catalans will have to ensure they have the resources required for this purpose and might have to sell one of their stars for this purpose.
