FC Barcelona received horrific news yesterday as the Brazilian striker Vitor Roque suffered a serious injury which can keep him out of action for several weeks. The Brazilian suffered a tear in his left ankle ligaments and will have to spend 8-10 weeks on the sidelines to recover from this injury.
Vitor Roque had been in an amazing form for the last few months. The striker was one of the stars of the U20 South American Championship, which he won with Brazil. The striker has also been in red-hot form for his club side and is competing for the top goal-scorer trophy in Brazilian Serie A.
Roque’s rivalry with Endrick
While Roque has proven himself to be the most skilled and effective of youngsters, he is not the only promising young talent coming out of Brazil with the eyes of top European clubs on him.
There is another player, Endrick, who was performing at a very high level in Brazil despite being only seventeen years old. Furthermore, he has been signed by Barcelona’s traditional rivals, Real Madrid, and the two players are expected to keep their competitive rivalry in Europe when they join the Spanish clubs in the future.
Endrick sends a message of support
With the serious injury that Roque has suffered, Endrick put this rivalry on the backseat for a while and sent a message of support through his Instagram story (h/t Barca Buzz) to his compatriot. Endrick wrote on Instagram:
“Brother, I know it is a difficult moment for you and I am with you in this, have a good recovery, you will come back much stronger PHENOMENO, Tigrinho.”
Roque has received support from numerous quarters since getting injured in a match in Brazilian Serie A. However, the message from Endrick would be a bit special because they are both among the best Brazilian talents at the moment.
Hopefully, Roque can come back soon and continue with his current form, and we can see both these youngsters fight it out for honors and titles in Spain, and put further fire to the Barcelona – Real Madrid rivalry, in the coming years.
