Real Madrid to make their advance on priority Barcelona target

Barcelona target Arda Guler

Rivalries in football are what keep the sport beating, and FC Barcelona are no strangers to this concept. With numerous rivalries across both Spain and Europe that have spanned decades both on the field and off of it, the Catalans are well aware of the arsenal possessed by their greatest oppositions throughout the years.

However, none have more so pushed the Catalan club than their arch-rivals from within Spain, Real Madrid. Having competed for silverware on the field and now competing even for players off it, the Classic rivalry of Spain lives on.

In their most recent battle, as reported by SPORT, the two sides are set to clash for the signature of Turkish wonderkid Arda Guler, who currently plays for Fenerbahce.

As FC Barcelona have already made advancements with the arrival of Deco in Turkey and having reportedly had an agreement in principle with the 18-year-old talent for his arrival to Barcelona as per Catalan journalist Gerard Romero, it appears now that Real Madrid wish to make their own move.

With a delegation that is set to be led by Emilio Butragueno and Roberto Carlos, with the latter having played for Fenerbahce himself at a point in his illustrious career, Real Madrid will look to attempt to convince the young Turk to join Los Blancos instead of La Blaugrana.

FC Barcelona have moreover submitted a total offer of €22 million including all commissions and training rights as per speculation, something that Real Madrid will reportedly have to top to change the stance of Fenerbahce.

Despite this development from the Real Madrid camp and their planned advancements, SPORT reports that Barcelona higher-ups remain assured with their own offer and that there is a certain ‘calm’ within the Catalan offices regarding the 18-year-old Turkish prodigy.
