Real Madrid would welcome the arrival of 20-year-old Barcelona prodigy – report

The upcoming days of the summer transfer window for Barcelona will be crucial in dictating exactly what kind of a squad Xavi will have at his disposal heading into the new season up ahead accompanies by new challenges to overcome.

FC Barcelona will now be looking to take care of their own priority targets in terms of arrivals, but there remains a huge question mark over the future of one of their most prized assets in the form of a prodigal La Masia talent.

Ansu Fati, 20 years of age and already the owner of the fabled number ten Barcelona jersey, is a forward that remains out of favor under Catalan coach Xavi Hernandez following his recovery process from injury and a rather stunted return to form.

According to Spanish outlet Diario AS, Fati still remains below the likes of Raphinha, Abde, Ferran Torres, and even Gavi in terms of the hierarchy of wingers that Xavi trusts at FC Barcelona.

As a result, uncertainty has grown within the Fati camp according to AS and as per Spanish journalist Tomas Roncero the player would be a welcome addition at Real Madrid as Los Blancos would like to wait for any opportunity to take the player away, stating:

“I wouldn’t mind at all if he came, because Madrid has signed the best players and Ansu is a natural goal-scorer.”

Moreover, he also suggested that the move may be mutually welcomed by the Barcelona star himself, saying:

“If Real Madrid calls Ansu Fati, he’d come running. Ansu Fati, regardless of what Xavi says, wants to leave. And if Real Madrid calls him, he’d come running, as I have a good relationship with people close to him.”

It has been a considerable time since Barcelona and Real Madrid last exchanged stars between them, as the El Clasico rivals remain particular about not strengthening their direct rivals. It will be interesting to see just how the case of Fati develops over the final days of the market.
