Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal

Record-breaking youngster could feature for Barcelona against Osasuna

FC Barcelona managed to beat Real Betis with a convincing 4-0 scoreline on Saturday, and now look ahead to their clash against Osasuna. The Catalan giants are all but ready to finalize their La Liga Santander title in the coming days and matches, and apart from the title, a new symbol of hope for the Xavi era has emerged in the shape of a particular young debutant.

15-year-old Lamine Yamal featured in his first-ever appearance for the FC Barcelona first team on Saturday against 6th placed Real Betis. The young La Masia gem would come on in the final 10 minutes or so of the game as a substitute for the fellow youngster and La Masia graduate Gavi. He broke the previous record and would go on to become the youngest ever Barcelona player to ever feature in a La Liga game.

On Monday, as the team performed their scheduled training session before the game against CA Osasuna on Tuesday, Lamine Yamal was once again present courtesy of Xavi Hernandez wanting the youngster to continue being involved with the first team.

The player would be accompanied by the Barcelona squad including the returning players from injury such as Ousmane Dembele and Andreas Christensen. The inclusion of all of these players means that apart from veteran Sergi Roberto, who is going to remain sidelined for the rest of the season, Xavi now has almost his entire squad back at his disposal.

Young Lamine Yamal could now go on to make a second appearance for FC Barcelona in their clash against CA Osasuna, who will go on to face Real Madrid on the upcoming Saturday dated the 6th of May for the Copa Del Ray final.

Should Xavi deem the situation of the upcoming game to be stable and in the hands of the Catalans, it would be likely that the young 15-year-old could yet again get some minutes and earn yet another taste of first-division football in Spain.
