Release clause revealed for Barcelona linked Turkish prodigy

Barcelona target Arda Guler

Owing to their difficult financial condition and the economic might of some other European clubs, FC Barcelona are focusing on signing young players with high potential or already developed free agents. One of the youngsters the club monitors is the Turk, Arda Guler.

According to SPORT, FC Barcelona are among the several clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain, Newcastle, Napoli, Arsenal, and Borussia Dortmund, who are currently monitoring Guler’s progress in the Turkish League.

Citing Fabrizio Romano, the report further claims that the youngster has played more than 1500 minutes with his club Fenerbahce, and as a result, his release clause has increased to €17.5 million.

While this price seems rather mediocre in the current highly inflated market, this increase in the release clause can significantly impact Barcelona’s pursuit of the teenager because of their poor financial health.

Still, the club would be wise to keep monitoring the youngster who has had a memorable season this year. Playing with Fenerbahce, the 18-year-old player made 35 appearances this season, scoring six goals and providing seven assists.

He was a key part of the Fenerbahce squad which ended the season while being placed second in the Turkish Superlig. Guler also helped his club win the Cup, providing an assist in the final against Basaksehir, which finished with a 2-0 scoreline.

Thus, FC Barcelona have got their eyes set on a highly promising youngster, who has already become a key player for Fenerbahce at the age of 18. While his increased release clause can dampen the hopes of Cules to get the player, they should continue monitoring him to ensure they do not lose out on a star if he breakouts in the near future.
