FC Barcelona have had a torrid time with injuries in recent seasons and even this campaign, Hansi Flick is still yet to have a complete roster at his disposal. However, this has not stopped the German coach from making the team play an attacking brand of football on the pitch.

Along with the brand of football, Flick’s Barcelona has also managed to get the results, which is of paramount importance. Nine wins in 11 games across all competitions makes for good reading and even their two losses came with an asterisk to it.

One player who seems perfectly suited to play in Hansi Flick’s high-line defensive system at Barcelona is Ronald Araujo. However, the Uruguayan has been out of action since the Copa America back in July and is working towards his recovery.

Now, as per Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have a tentative return date in mind for the €70m-rated Barcelona star should his recovery go on as planned without any hiccups. The game against Celta Vigo on November 23 is considered one of the prospective dates for Araujo to return to action.

Should that not happen though, Barcelona have the game against Brest in the Champions League three days later in mind. Considering the long-term nature and the severity of the injury, the club will be keen not to cut any corners with Araujo.

Hansi Flick will also be well aware of the Uruguayan center-back’s injury history. Araujo has been a fairly injury-prone player during his time at the club and the club will understand the importance of the club captain making a complete recovery from his latest issue.

Araujo’s physical and pacy presence makes him a no-brainer in Hansi Flick’s high-line defensive setup. He is an excellent one-on-one defender and would be able to rotate very well alongside Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez, who have been untouchable in defense so far this season.

It is not just Araujo that Flick is missing in defense, with Andreas Christensen also recovering from his injury. Barcelona will hope for the Uruguayan to return at his best level and let’s wait and see how his recovery pans out.
