After missing several of his important midfielders at the start of this season, the FC Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick now faces another problem as most of these midfielders have recovered, and are vying for minutes.

Marc Casado, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Fermin Lopez, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, and Pablo Torre are all available for the German manager to field in the three midfield positions.

However, all of these midfielders, barring Pedri, Casado, and Torre, had been unavailable at some point in this campaign, and to fill his midfield numbers, Flick has had to make some emergency deployments, including playing Eric Garcia as a midfield pivot.

The Spaniard was expected to play this role in the match against Sevilla but suffered a physical problem while warming up for this game. Despite this problem not looking like a very serious one, he was unable to participate in the following matches against Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Espanyol.

Barcelona have not provided a clear idea of the problem that the player is suffering, but SPORT has now reported the reason why Garcia has been unable to participate in all these games.

The Spanish publication reveals that the former Manchester City defender is suffering from pubalgia, which is quite a common problem among footballers. As he is following a conservative treatment method, he had no choice but to rest for these games.

As he is already expected to return to action at the end of November, this problem does not seem too serious. In situations when this condition becomes more complicated, an individual has no choice but to undergo surgery. Fortunately, this has not been the case for Garcia.

The €20m-rated Spanish defender is expected to return to action after the November international break, and will thus miss two more games, against Red Star Belgrade in UCL tonight and against Real Sociedad in La Liga.
