Having already missed the 31st December deadline to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor with La Liga, FC Barcelona are now desperately taking action to still find a way to get him registered in January so he will be available to Hansi Flick for the second half of the season.

One of the actions that the Blaugrana club took in this regard was to ask RFEF for new licenses for their duo, as it would have allowed them to appear in competitions organized by this entity, i.e., Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup.

However, according to a report from Diario AS, Barcelona do not have any reason to get their hopes too high in this regard as well, as sources from the federation have told the newspaper that they are going to side with their vice-president, Javier Tebas, and thus will not accept the Blaugranes’ application for the registration of Olmo and Victor.

The sources further claim that they are not going to endanger their relations with La Liga after all the efforts they undertook to build these ties. Furthermore, they also believe Barcelona should have complied with the regulations and they cannot put the blame for this fiasco on the league authority.

This matter of Olmo and Victor’s license has been the first big challenge for the new RFEF President Rafael Louzan. He is generally known to be an administrator who tries his best to avoid conflicts, but in this case, it was impossible not to pick a side, and he is apparently siding with his recently appointed Vice-President.

With this move, and especially with Tebas as the entity’s Vice-President, it is quite clear that neither RFEF nor La Liga will side with them, and they will have to explore other avenues to be able to register these two players.
