Seven Barcelona youngsters set to travel to the United States for pre-season tour

Barcelona youngster Aleix Garrido

With the upcoming tour of the United States right around the corner for Barcelona, the Catalans will be hoping to get done with any and all experimentations they would like to try out before the start of the official season.

This includes the likes of experimental tactics, positional changes, and testing new arrivals and returning players from loan. Moreover, it also provides a chance to test out those who have thus far not had much involvement within the side as well as those looking to make their way up from the subsidiary.

According to a recent report by SPORT, Barcelona could potentially take alongside them seven youngsters who are either a part of the subsidiary or will soon become part of it along with the first team for the pre-season scheduled to take place in the United States of America.

Three of those players from the subsidiary are already guaranteed a place within the side as per the report. These three players in question are Lamine Yamal (15-year-old), Marc Casado (19-year-old), and Aleix Garrido (19-year-old).

All of these players have already made their debuts under Xavi Hernandez with Lamine Yamal in particular having turned the most heads given that he went on to become the youngest debutant in Barcelona history. He is also set to sign his first professional contract with the club once he turns 16 not too long from now.

The fourth player that is guaranteed to travel with the first team is new acquisition Mikayil Faye from Croatian side NK Kustosija. His place for the tour was not just confirmed by SPORT but also by Fabrizio Romano, a reliable Italian journalist and transfer expert.

He will surely be tested by Xavi Hernandez during pre-season, despite the original plan still being that he has currently signed to be a part of the subsidiary team.

The remaining three players who are yet to be placed within the plans for the pre-season tour are Arnau Tenas (22-year-old), Chadi Riad (19-year-old), and Estanis Pedrola (19-year-old). In the case of these players, Barcelona will only decide upon their inclusion within the first team’s dynamics depending upon their contractual and sporting status by then.

Having competed for a good amount of time within the subsidiary sides, there is a possibility that many of them may leave on loan elsewhere while in the case of Arnau Tenas, his contract runs out on the 30th of June, something Barcelona will have to address.

For now, it seems that four out of the seven aforementioned players will have guaranteed places within the first time while the rest are still yet to be sorted out depending upon their status within the club by then.
