Social media activity of Portuguese duo hints at their willingness to join Barcelona – report

Barcelona target Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix

The FC Barcelona team fighting to defend the La Liga title this season is significantly different from the one that won the title last year. Veterans like Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are no longer with the team, and a host of new players has been added by the club in this summer transfer window.

Inigo Martinez, Oriol Romeu, and Ilkay Gundogan have already been added to the club’s squad. Vitor Roque has also been signed, but the time of his incorporation is not determined yet. However, these are not expected to be the only new players at Barcelona, as the club wants to incorporate at least two more players.

Barcelona working to sign Portuguese duo this summer

These two players in question are Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix. The Portuguese fullback is particularly close to joining Barcelona and his signing from Manchester City could be closed in the coming few days.

There are only a few details left to be taken care of, but the Catalans are working to conclude this operation at a gradual pace as it is clear that Cancelo will not be able to feature in the next match against Villareal.

Meanwhile, Joao Felix is also waiting for FC Barcelona to make a final push for his signing in the last days of the transfer window. Both these players want to wear the Blaugrana colors next season and are also willing to lower their wages for this purpose.

Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo stand out with their social media activity

Their willingness to join Barcelona has also been showcased by their recent social media activity. As SPORT has reported, Joao Cancelo recently liked a post by his former teammate, Ilkay Gundogan, in which the midfielder can be seen celebrating the victory against Cadiz over the last weekend.

Similarly, Joao Felix also liked a post by Pedri, in which he was also celebrating the club’s first victory against Cadiz, in their defense of the La Liga title.

Such social media activity would have gone largely unnoticed in normal times. However, as the two players have been linked with the Catalan club for some time now, their liking of posts celebrating a Barcelona win certainly puts fuel to speculation of them being willing to move to the Catalan capital this summer.
