Fiorentina midfielder and Moroccan International Sofyan Amrabat is amongst those on FC Barcelona’s agenda on deadline day in the January transfer window. The 26-year-old has become quite the name following his breakout performance for Morocco during their fairy-tale run to the World Cup semi-finals in Qatar 2022.
Amidst this spontaneous interest from Barcelona, as the Catalan club and the player’s agents both pile on the pressure on his current club Fiorentina, the player himself has taken to Instagram and posted a rather cryptic text on his story.
“Go for it now. The future is promised to no one”
While the message could end up meaning next to nothing, it is rather difficult to imagine there not being any connection to the fact that Fiorentina and Barcelona are currently in negotiations for Sofyan Amrabat with the former making his acquisition rather troublesome for the Catalan giants.
FC Barcelona’s current proposals for the player have all included a loan deal offer with an option to buy should they feel the need to take it. La Liga’s financial regulations currently forbid La Blaugrana from making deals which involve mandatory purchases, the latter type of deal being something which is something Fiorentina considers to be more suitable for them, thus making negotiations rather stagnant at the moment.
