The winter transfer window closed at the beginning of February without any changes in the Barcelona squad. The Catalans wanted to bring in a new offensive player for Hansi Flick but needed to offload one of their current players for this purpose, and they were unable to successfully carry out the latter operation.

There were several Blaugranes players linked with moves away from the club, including the likes of Ansu Fati, Ronald Araujo, and Eric Garcia, but all of them are still under Flick’s command.

However, according to Fichajes, Barcelona have already decided which player they will sell when the next summer transfer window starts. This player is the Brazilian striker, Vitor Roque, who is currently playing at Real Betis on loan.

The Seville side has an option to buy him at the end of the season and can also extend his loan for another season. However, they recently incorporated the Mexican striker Cucho Hernandez into their squad, and with his arrival, it seems quite unlikely that Roque will get the continuity in Pellegrini’s team that he needs for his development.

Thus, he will return to Barcelona next summer, but his stay at the Catalan club will be rather short, as the Blaugranes are not considering keeping him, and will be looking for a sale.

For this purpose, one of the sides that have reportedly been interested in him is the Brazilian team, Palmeiras. Furthermore, Tottenham and some other Premier League teams have also shown an interest in the Brazilian youngster.

Meanwhile, Roque’s own entourage is beginning to accept that his time in Spanish football is coming to an end, and it remains to be seen what his next destination would be. For now, one can only hope that he will continue to get game time with Real Betis and hopefully enhance his valuation by the time the summer transfer market starts.
