With the way the trio of Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Lamine Yamal is playing, other forwards in the FC Barcelona squad cannot even dream of having a regular starting spot in Hansi Flick’s team.

This is also true for a player as effective as Ferran Torres, who has played 30 games this season but has started only 10, and these are mostly to rest and rotate one of the fixed three starting forwards.

In such a scenario, he has also been linked with moves away from the Blaugrana club. The latest side that he is being linked to is the La Liga team Villarreal, as Fichajes reports that the Yellow Submarines have set him as one of their top objectives for the next summer transfer window.

The Spanish side is prepared to offer up to €20 million for the 25-year-old winger’s signing, and are confident a proposal in this range will convince both Barcelona and Torres.

One of the factors causing Villarreal’s interest in the Spaniard is that their head coach, Marcelino, has already worked with him in the past, during their time at Valencia. Thus, the trainer already knows what the former Manchester City forward will bring to his team, and wants him particularly for his versatility.

For Barcelona, Torres’ sale will be a good opportunity to generate some cash, that can then be used to make more signings. However, Hansi Flick does not want to lose the winger without any reinforcement, and although Deco is doing his work in this regard, no move has yet been made.

Meanwhile, the player himself is not too clear about a potential move. Even with his secondary role, he is committed to Barcelona, and believes he can get a more prominent role under Flick going forward. Furthermore, he believes remaining at the Blaugrana club is his best bet to retain a position in the Spanish national team.

Thus, it remains to be seen how this operation will pan out, and whether the winger will stay at the Catalan club or undertake a move to Villarreal.

The article clearly states €20 million is the amount that Villarreal is looking to offer for a player that is currently valued at €28 million on Transfermarkt.
And keeping in view their recent activity in the market, it would not really have been a surprise to see Real Madrid generating €60 million for a player like Torres. It is just that Barcelona have not been that good when it comes to selling their assets.

  2. Ansari made Joke of the year…Ferran 20 million? Hahaha. If Ferran is Real Madrid player, Ansari says 60-70 millions. Shame on you, mister Ansari!

  3. Ferran is terrible and thecworst barca signing ever, but he still worth more than 20 million.
    Anyway, barca must sell him.
