Barcelona continues to have a rather disappointing end to 2023, and the latest update was no blessing. A heavy hit has come to the club’s overall transfer valuation as per the latest input of Transfermarkt. This devaluation, resultantly, has cost Barcelona significantly in terms of their overall market influence and competitiveness as well.
In terms of specific numbers, Barça’s overall transfer valuation has fallen from €862 million to €818 million. This drop of €44 million is mainly attributed to the several players that have recently declined in terms of their respective values.
Pedri, Frenkie De Jong, Robert Lewandowski, Joao Cancelo, and Joao Felix are just a few of the involved names. Several of these names have lost their respective values by close to a €10 million value each.
However, it seems that some good news has come in the way of Barcelona. It appears that Vitor Roque, one of the club’s biggest sporting bets, will also be a massive financial boost to the club. According to Mundo Deportivo, his incorporation will do the club several favors.
In terms of overall transfer valuation, Roque’s addition will make Barcelona whole again. With a value of €40 million, he will more or less fill that entire void left by the recent devaluations.
This will lead to Barcelona regaining their overall competency and make their overall valuation competitive again in the grand scheme of things.
Roque’s arrival, however, is also considered a great beacon of hope for the club. Xavi’s Barcelona is struggling to score goals this season and the fans are understandably quite frustrated.
As such, a lot of expectations are on the 18-year-old striker to help out with these problems. While his past experience in Brazil is not with one of the country’s grandest sides, his experience in Spain certainly will be. Consequently, the expectations in Catalonia will be unlike anything he is used to.
