In the upcoming summer transfer window, one of the areas that FC Barcelona are looking to strengthen is that of the left wing. For this purpose, several players have been linked with the Catalan club.

The Liverpool forward, Luis Diaz, is the favorite of Deco to reinforce this position, while the Athletic Club winger, Nico Williams, is reportedly the preferred candidate for the new Barcelona coach, Hansi Flick.

But it seems like several players in the Barcelona dressing room will also prefer the latter option, i.e., Nico Williams to play with them in this position. This is clear from a recent interaction that took place in the Spanish national team camp, that has been reported by SPORT.

As already reported here, a conversation took place between some members of the Spanish national team squad, belonging to Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Athletic Club. Nacho joked with Lamine Yamal about the number 10 shirt at Barcelona, referring to a recent interview in which the youngster showed his readiness to take the number 10 shirt.

During this conversation, Nico Williams was also involved, and it seemed like some of the Barcelona players, mainly Pedri and Ferran Torres, already saw him as a member of the Catalan giants.

During this interaction, Pedri commented to the winger: “Nico, you have to change the number ten”. Referring to the other claimants for the number, Ansu Fati and Lamine Yamal.

Later Ferran Torres also joked with Nico, telling him that he cannot take the number 10 shirt at Barcelona with his current hairstyle.

While this conversation took place only in an informal tone, the way the players were talking one can be sure of things taking place behind the scenes about a proposed move to Barcelona. It is also clear that he will be very well received at the Catalan club if such a move actually takes place.
