FC Barcelona have completed several contract renewal operations in the last few months and were successful in tying down some important players in their squad for a lengthier period of time, including the likes of Ronald Araujo, Pedri, Gavi, and Pau Cubarsi.

However, their work in this regard is still not done, and Deco is looking to now work on the renewal of other players that the Catalans believe will be key for their future project.

There is no player who fits this description better than Lamine Yamal, and his renewal is one of the priorities of the Blaugranes. His current contract goes till 2026, but he already has an agreement with Barcelona to further extend it till 2030 when he reaches the age of 18, something that will happen in July this year.

Mundo Deportivo has forwarded some good news for Blaugrana fans in this regard, as a report from the Spanish publication claims that the €180m-rated winger is fully committed to extending his stay at the Catalan club.

His agent, Jorge Mendes, has already conveyed to Barcelona his client’s idea of signing for five more years, which is in line with what the two parties had already previously agreed.

Meetings between Mendes and Laporta have already taken place some months ago, and more meetings are expected corresponding with the UEFA Champions League tie with Benfica over in Lisbon.

Furthermore, the superagent has already let it known in the market that Yamal is not for sale and they will not listen to any offers for him. This is despite the high demand that the youngster enjoys in the European market, as some big clubs look to take advantage of his low salary and the Blaugranes’ problems with FFP.

On the other hand, Mendes is not really worried about the FFP aspect, as he is in direct communication with Joan Laporta. Thus, Yamal’s renewal is well on track, and Barcelona fans can continue to expect to see him playing in their jersey for years to come.
