It seems that the talents of FC Barcelona continue to attract more than just clubs. Given the quality that they possess, this new generation of La Masia starlets understandably have long lists of suitors. Moreover, beyond just other European giants, these Barcelona wonderkids also tend to attract various agencies.
However, when it comes to superagents, perhaps very few names come close to Jorge Mendes. The man from Portugal boasts a great collection of elite players contracted to his agency, Gestifute, and he seems to have no plans of stopping any time soon.
In fact, it seems that Mendes only wants to keep adding to this growing collection. Moreover, he wants one of the most prominent rising jewels from the Barcelona quarry to be added to his ever-growing list of players he already has under his wing from the Catalan club.
As per SPORT, Mendes now wants talented midfielder Pau Prim to become his latest client. The 17-year-old midfielder has a profile beyond just his sporting abilities that makes him a great target for the Portuguese agent, and that is a mixture of his quality and his marketability.
Still being under the age of 18, Prim is impressionable and could be a key addition to Jorge Mendes’s already prominent list. Moreover, the talent of the youngster remains undeniable. He continues to feature for both the Juvenil teams as well as the Barcelona Atletic side of Rafa Marquez.
However, even Mendes will have to wait here it seems. Having also wanted Hector Fort, the Portuguese agent is still waiting on an answer from both the fullback and the midfielder. In the case of Pau Prim, his offer is not the only one on the table and the youngster’s entourage could also extend his contract with his current agency.
On the other hand, perhaps Mendes remains somewhat of a specialist when it comes to Barcelona talents in particular. Names such as Ansu Fati, Lamine Yamal, Guille Fernandez, and Alejandro Balde are already included in his list of elite clients. Yet, in the case of Prim, at least for now, there is no guarantee for Mendes.
