The desire of FC Barcelona to continue possessing prodigious talents remains unparalleled. La Blaugrana are renowned for developing and producing some of the finest talents that football has seen. However, that does not stop Barcelona from mingling in the transfer market every now and then as well.
Having recently taken in Vitor Roque following his arrival from Athletico Paranaense, Barcelona are already working towards more incorporations. The world of football is fast-moving, and deals ideally would be done sooner rather than later.
One name that Barcelona has kept an eye on for quite some time is Lucas Bergvall. A Swedish midfielder who currently plays for Djurgardens, his talents have caught the eyes of Barcelona and others. However, as is usually the case whenever the Catalans are involved, there are some difficulties.
As highlighted by SPORT, Barcelona had already conveyed their interest to the player’s entourage months ago. Having even received the green light from the midfielder, Barcelona knew they had a chance. However, the financial aspect seems to be problematic.
His current side has rejected Italian outfit Udinese’s €5 million offer. Consequently, Barcelona are becoming more and more cautious about the price that Djurgardens expect to take away for their 17-year-old midfielder. As things stand, SPORT assumes that Barcelona believes the offer needs to be upwards of €15 million.
Due to this, things become much more complicated for the Catalan giants. Spending that much on a young player, especially after investing heavily in Vitor Roque, is a bit unfeasible for La Blaugrana at the moment. However, time is definitely ticking when it comes to signing Bergvall.
In fact, Inter Milan is already prepared to launch their own plan. Hoping to make the youngster their own, it would appear that the Serie A side already has the adequate funds required to finance this deal. While the player’s transfer is still not settled, time is not in the favor of the team from Catalonia.
