Lucas Bergvall is one of the players most strongly linked with FC Barcelona in the last few weeks. The Swedish youngster is particularly liked by the Catalan club’s management because of the high quality he has been showing despite his tender age.

Currently playing for the Swedish side Djurgardens IF, the 17-year-old has emerged as one of the most in-demand players in Europe. Several clubs are interested in him, with his club pushing him to join Eintracht Frankfurt, but Bayern Munich and Juventus are also fighting for his signature.

Despite the competition for the young talent from these big European powerhouses, Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona are optimistic about his signing because the player himself desires to play for the Catalan club.

Barcelona would not be able to pay as much as these other interested clubs can. Frankfurt can pay up to €10 million for the youngster, but Barcelona can only pay around €6 million.

While this difference is considerable, it is not insurmountable, and the two involved clubs can still arrive at an agreement. Barcelona can increase their offer a bit if their finances allow.

Still, the Catalans are getting increasingly confident of securing the player, and this confidence has increased manifold in the last few days.

However, the player is very difficult to arrive in the current winter window, because the Catalans have been unable to yet secure the payment for the sale of Barca Studios, and a summer move remains a more realistic option.

Bergvall has had a season to remember last year. He made his professional debut in November 2021 with Brommapojkama, and then, a year later, signed with his current club, Djurgardens IF. He played 25 games with the first team last season, scoring two goals and giving one assist.
