Arrivals have been a massive concern for FC Barcelona during this summer and for good reason. Having made great progress domestically this season in both La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup, the club now set their eyes on European success.
However, to do so, Barcelona are not just looking at other clubs for new arrivals. The Catalan club is also focused on retaining certain talents that they already possess and must have their contractual situations sorted, as well as certain players that are on the verge of departing themselves.
The following ten players have been reported by SPORT to be either on the verge of renewing and continuing with the club, or being on the exit ramp with La Blaugrana hoping that their futures are intertwined with another club.
Samuel Umtiti
Following his rather strong performances for Italian side Lecce during his time on loan, the player is now close to leaving for French side Lyon on a permanent transfer, as was reported here on Barca News Network.
Final details are yet to be sorted such as the transfer of Lyon defender Lukeba, but it is believed that this operation will soon find itself becoming a reality.
Clement Lenglet
The French defender has recently ended his loan spell at English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur following a good time in England. FC Barcelona and Spurs are now in talks to finalize a permanent transfer for the player back to the club he just returned from.
The English club is willing to take on the responsibility of all his deferred payments yet to be paid to the player if Barcelona let him go on a free, something the Catalan club is considering.
Sergino Dest
While the American fullback had a rather dull time with AC Milan during his loan spell given his lack of game time or importance, Barcelona are also adamant on offloading him given that he does not hold much prominence in the eyes of Xavi Hernandez either.
His agent did however state that the player has attracted clubs from the Premier League, so it remains to be seen if any possible suitors present themselves soon.
Alex Collado
With the options of both Granada and Las Palmas on the table as per the report and both offers being ones that the player personally likes, FC Barcelona and his agent have recently held talks to decide the best possible exit for his near future.
Nico Gonzalez
Arguably a well rounded pivot and he is undoubtedly one that has impressed during his time at La Masia, the manager still does not count on him and thus a transfer is best for his development.
Barcelona continue to look for a loan deal with the added buyback option included within it, but at the moment the clearest interest is that of Real Betis and it is one the player personally likes as well.
Ez Abde
The Moroccan winger is arguably the only one of the returning loan players that Barcelona intend to integrate within the first team next season.
Having received the green light from Xavi Hernandez earlier this month, he is expected to partake in the preseason as well.
Ronald Araujo
Barcelona have already managed to register Gavi’s new contract at the club and their next priority is none other than doing the same for Ronald Araujo’s new agreed contract that was finalised a few months ago.
Alejandro Balde
A case yet to be renewed as well, unlike Araujo and Gavi however, the renewal for Alejandro Balde has not yet been done, but it still remains optimistic.
The player and his agent Jorge Mendes have agreed most terms with Barcelona and have already been made aware of the €1 billion release clause set to be included in his new contract.
Arnau Tenas
The goalkeeper’s contract has the option to extend his current contractual duration by two years but Barcelona are yet to activate it should they wish to. With his contract set to expire at the end of June, Barcelona may need to finalise their decision soon.
Lamine Yamal
The youngest of the lot and one that possesses the great talent to become one of the faces of Barcelona in the future. Sharing the same agent as Balde, his renewal is progressing smoothly and is expected to see him extend his stay at Barca until at least 2026.
He will, however, only be able to sign the contract once he turns 16 on the 13th of July in the coming month.
