FC Barcelona will see their attack receive a significant boost in January, as the Brazilian prodigy, Vitor Roque, will join its ranks, and will be available for Xavi to play in the second half of the season.
Roque’s addition might be the only reinforcement for Barcelona in January, but the club will once again look at the market to bolster its attacking arsenal in the summer window, especially as the Catalans are now opening up to the idea of Lewandowski leaving.
As was the case last summer, Barcelona will also have to keep a close eye on the forwards whose contracts are ending after this season, so they can get some quality additions for free. Mundo Deportivo has identified several such players, and their list includes some interesting names. Their list is as follows:
Anthony Martial (28 years old)
Anthony Martial has returned to Manchester United this season after a loan stint at Sevilla. With the Red Devils, he has scored two goals in thirteen games.
Gabriel Barbosa (27 years old)
The Brazilian has also been of interest to Barcelona in the past and his numbers for Flamengo – 24 goals in 54 games – makes him an attractive option for the Catalans once again, especially as he can come for free now.
Angel di Maria (35 years old)
Di Maria has been performing at a very high level with Benfica this season and has recorded nine goals and three assists. Barcelona have long been interested in him, and his profile and experience make him a highly alluring option for the Catalans.
Luka Jovic (26 years old)
The Serbian is still quite young but has been unable to hit the form that he showed in his first Eintracht Frankfurt stint since his move to Real Madrid. Currently playing for AC Milan, he has three goals in thirteen games.
Michy Batshuayi (30 years old)
The Belgian has played for sides across Europe since making his debut with Chelsea. He has played for Dortmund, Valencia, Crystal Palace, Besiktas, and Fenerbahce, and has eight goals and three assists with the latest Turkish side this season.
Olivier Giroud (37 years old)
Although he is already 37 years old, Giroud has never stopped performing at the highest level, and has nine goals and six assists in Serie A with AC Milan.
Wissam ben Yedder (33 years old)
The Monaco forward has eight goals in sixteen appearances this season, and is a fixed starter for the French side. His record in Spain with Sevilla was also quite good, as he scored 70 goals in 138 games.
Felipe Anderson (30 years old)
Barcelona were interested in the Brazilian when he had his revelation season in 2015 in Serie A. Now thirty years old, he is well past his peak and has scored only one goal in twenty-four appearances for Lazio.
Nicolas Pepe (28 years old)
Pepe was unable to shine when he moved to Arsenal, but has been performing better in Turkey with Trabzonspor, with whom he has two assists and one goal in seven appearances.
Kylian Mbappe (25 years old)
The Frenchman’s addition would take Barcelona’s team to new heights, but his arrival is made almost impossible because of his wage and transfer bonus demands.
