The recent contest against Athletic Club has left Barcelona in a tight space when it comes to squad depth. Two of the team’s most prominent midfielders ended up having to be taken off due to injuries in that game. Consequently, Barcelona head on forward with a depleted squad.

However, football waits for no man and no team irrespective of their reality. Games in La Liga and the UEFA Champions League are fast approaching, and Barcelona need answers to curb their limitations. Like before, there is hope that the solutions to these limitations can come from the Barcelona quarry.

As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, there are ten names within the Barcelona subsidiary that stand out as potential stars of tomorrow and who can possibly help Xavi out in these troubling times.

Marc Casado (aged 20)

A captain of the subsidiary, Barcelona youngster Marc Casado is one of the most talented youth players in the team. His versatility in particular stands out, as he is able to cover multiple positions. However, his chances with the first team have been scarce.

Marc Bernal (aged 16)

A very dynamic midfielder, Marc Bernal has a certain explosiveness to his game. With his blend of physical and technical mastery, he is able to give Xavi a very different kind of profile should he opt to choose him to help the first team.

Moha Moukhliss (aged 24)

Possessing good precision, utility with the ball, and experience as well, Moukhliss is the oldest name on this list and offers equal levels of years with his well-developed profile.

Guille Fernandez (aged 15)

Arguably the most exciting midfielder in the entirety of the Barcelona quarry, Guille Fernandez’s eruption is a matter of time. Already making waves within the Barcelona Juvenil teams, his tender age of 15 does not reflect just how mature his game is.

While he may be quite young, Lamine Yamal has already set a grand precedent before that he could take advantage of.

Juan Hernandez (aged 16)

Another player on the younger side of things, Juan Hernandez is a daring player with offensive talents. Capable of playing both as a false 9 and as an interior, his profile would be able to give Barcelona many options.

Xavi Espart (aged 16)

Able to play in every single midfield position, Xavi Espart is also a capable emergency right-back. Xavi Hernandez himself has followed his development closely, and considers him a sound prospect.

Unai Hernandez (aged 19)

A regular member of Xavi’s training sessions, Unai Hernandez is a very offensive midfield prospect. He seems to have a knack for scoring goals, and that is something Barcelona could definitely use against resilient opponents.

Noah Darvich (aged 17)

A World Cup winner at the Under-17 level with Germany, Noah Darvich has what it takes to perform when the stakes are high. Previously from Freiburg, he was recruited by Barcelona as one of Europe’s greatest revelations. He waits for Xavi’s call knowing he has the talent to do something special at the club.

Pau Prim (aged 18)

Identified by SPORT as being a ‘complete’ midfielder, Pau Prim truly encapsulates all the virtues of a good midfielder. Technically sound, tactically intelligent, and able to stand out individually as well, Pau Prim has a lot of resources to help out Xavi’s Barcelona.

Quim Junyent (aged 16)

A truly special talent, Barcelona youngster Quim Junyent is seen as a master of all basics. His mastery over the elements of midfield play have caught the eye of Xavi Hernandez, who identifies the 16-year-old as a very intelligent and gifted player.
