FC Barcelona continue to wait for approval from La Liga over their presented Financial Feasibility Plan that would consequently better allow them to understand their limits in terms of spending and the type of options they can pursue over the summer.

Despite the official approval still pending to be received, the Catalan club has a set number of positions where they understand reinforcements are essential if they wish to compete for multiple titles next season. Those are as follows as per Mundo Deportivo:

Pivot:

For the pivot position, it can simply not be stressed enough how important a top-level replacement is. For years on end, Sergio Busquets has held the responsibility of the defensive midfielder position and done his job dutifully. Now, as he departs, a new successor must arrive.

The names that FC Barcelona are most attracted towards are Joshua Kimmich of Bayern Munich, Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad, Sofyan Amrabat of Fiorentina, Ruben Neves of Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Guido Rodriguez of Real Betis.

Right-back:

The other position that gained particular traction due to allegedly reports stating that Jules Kounde may have been on the verge of leaving due to positional misunderstandings and how he no longer wanted to play at the right-back position.

While this was officially denied by the player, it remains no secret that Barcelona need a specializing right-back if they wish to properly compete in Europe.

The names that continue to circulate the most are those of Joao Cancelo of Manchester City and Juan Foyth of Villarreal.

Interior/Central Midfielder:

Thirdly, the arrival of an elite-level interior is what Xavi believes would add some much-needed depth as well as winning experience into his rather young midfield.

The name of Ilkay Gundogan of Manchester City is one that continues to gain traction yet seemingly becomes more and more improbable given reports that Manchester City have already improved their offered terms in order to renew him.

Centre Forward:

Lastly, the position of the center forward is one that excites many. While Robert Lewandowski remains one of the most potent strikers in world football, Barcelona believe that they must bring in adequate backup in order to facilitate quality depth and ensure investment for the future.

Brazilian wonderkid Vitor Roque is reportedly the primary priority for FC Barcelona and it remains just his price tag that becomes the only hurdle for Barca in order to acquire him.

The Return of Messi:

On the other hand, Lionel Messi is the biggest name by far on the list who continues to find himself in the news regarding links to FC Barcelona. While it’s reportedly believed that the Feasibility Plan is in place with a major concern being Messi’s arrival, it remains to be seen just when or if Barcelona send the official offer to the Argentine legend.
