The future of Frenkie De Jong is up in the air: Report

A lot of clubs like Frenkie De Jong, including Manchester United; but nothing is done yet.

Frenkie de Jong is linked with a move away from Camp Nou

The rumors of Frenkie de Jong leaving Barcelona gained strength yesterday after the reliable journalist Gerard Romero reported that the deal is 95% done between Fc Barcelona and Manchester United for the transfer of Frenkie de Jong. According to the journalist, the deal will be around 70-90 million Euros and the reason behind it is Barca’s financial situation.

Samuel Marsden later reported that Frenkie’s environment insisted that the deal was far from being close and there are good chances for the player to continue at Barca. Today multiple reports came out confirming that the deal was far from done, and Frenkie wants to stay at the club and is not considering a move away from the Camp Nou.

They further added if he was forced to leave the club due to economical reasons he would only choose a club playing in UCL next season and thus the links with United are not to be taken seriously. It is clear from multiple reports that de Jong is annoyed by these reports linking him away from Barca, the club of his life.

Xavi trusts the player completely and thinks that he is a very important part of the project. The club rates him highly as well and wants the player to continue at the club unless a huge offer arrives. Clubs like Bayern, PSG, United, and City are all eyeing the situation and are interested in the possibility of signing him if he is to leave Barca.

Analyzing all the reports from reliable sources it is understood that the coach considers him a key player, but the club might be forced to sell him in order to fill the financial holes if a huge offer comes.
