Within FC Barcelona, there are a great number of international stars representing the club. By playing for their national teams and representing them regularly, they only further their claim to being elite players. However, even for players of Barcelona, their aspirations lie in succeeding with their nations.
Many of those players continue to break records with their respective countries. Others, even now, continue to struggle to put their nation on the map. With the European championship coming up sooner rather than later, many European Barcelona stars wanted to ensure their teams made it.
Fortunately for the players of Barcelona, many of those names managed to achieve that goal. As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, the following twelve players from different nations have already booked their place in the UEFA EURO 2024.
Spain (Yamal, Cubarsi, Pedri, Ferran, Martinez):
For a majority of Barcelona players partaking in the Euros, Spain will be the nation they represent. Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi, two of the youngest players in the competition, will be some of the most exciting names to follow in the competition.
Pedri, who would have recovered from his injury by then, would be an automatic slot in as well alongside potentially Ferran Torres and Inigo Martinez.
Poland (Lewandowski):
Through the closest of margins, Robert Lewandowski and Poland will be heading to the Euros as well. After an intense penalty shootout against Wales, the Barcelona ace will go with his country and be the sole Blaugrana representative from Poland at the competition.
Denmark (Christensen):
The Danish defender, and Barcelona pivot to be precise, is another name who will be present at the Euros. Despite an initial injury scare, the player is expected to be fully fit for Barcelona as well as Denmark by the time the European championship comes around.
Germany (Ter Stegen, Gundogan):
Two of Barça’s most senior veterans, and also Germany’s, will be there to take their team to the Euros. While Gundogan, as the team’s captain, will be a given starter for the team led by Julian Nagelsmann, it remains to be seen how Ter Stegen competes with Bayern’s Manuel Neuer.
Portugal (Felix, Cancelo):
The two Joaos of Barcelona will also be present at the European championship in Germany. Both Felix, on loan from Atletico Madrid, and Cancelo, on loan from Manchester City, are fundamentally important for Portugal and their presence will be vital for them.
