FC Barcelona presented their squad for the next season at the event of the Joan Gamper Trophy last night. The match itself did not end in favor of the Blaugranes, as they suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Monaco.
But there is no doubt that the night was an exciting one for the Barcelona fans, as they made their emotions clear about the new team with their reactions when they were presented.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, Hansi Flick was received very warmly by the fanbase, as he received the first big applause when he got on to the pitch and made a brief presentation speech. Flick’s staff was also presented at this event, but surprisingly, Thiago Alcantara was not among those present at the night.
Another person who was missing last night was Fermin Lopez, as he has been allowed an extended leave by the club following his performances for Spain in the Paris Olympic Games.
The new Barcelona signing Dani Olmo was also greeted with a resounding ovation from the fans. He also juggled the ball after his entry onto the pitch, and also showed optimism for his team’s success in the season to come. However, he was unable to make his debut last night.
Another new signing, Pau Victor, was also presented to the fans. The youngster took this opportunity to show gratitude to Barcelona for this opportunity, after his loan with Barcelona Atletic last season.
Gavi, Lamine Yamal, and Ter Stegen were also the receptionists of the loudest applause from the fans. The captain also made a good speech, in which he remembered Xavi Hernandez and Sergi Roberto.
The fans also showed their appreciation for the likes of Lewandowski, Pedri, Balde, Cubarsi, and Kounde. However, Vitor Roque received only a mild welcome, while there were some whistles when Frenkie de Jong and Clement Lenglet were presented.
