The possible return dates of injured Barcelona players

Despite having several starting players out with injuries, FC Barcelona had a significant victory over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final. Now, with this difficult game having been dealt with successfully, the fanbase and Xavi will be looking forward to getting back the players currently sidelined with injuries to end the season on a strong note.

Lewandowski, Dembele, Pedri, and Christensen are the players that missed the match last night, and their return times are discussed below:

Robert Lewandowski:

Lewandowski suffered from muscular discomfort at the end of the match against Almeria, the details of which were let out on the following day. These reports suggested that the Pole would be out for 10-15 days and is expected to miss the Liga game against Valencia. He could be available for the match against Athletic on the 12th of March.

Ousmane Dembele:

Dembele is one of the main offensive players for Barcelona this season, and the team’s attacking output has not been the same since he went out with an injury at the end of January. He was expected to be out for 5-6 weeks then and is already working to make a return for the clash against Athletic Bilbao on the 12th of March as per the reports from Mundo Deportivo.

However, according to Javi Miguel, the club will not rush his return and the French winger will make his return against Real Madrid on the 19th of March.

Pedri:

Pedri is one of the irreplaceable players in the squad, as has been keenly felt since his injury in the match against Manchester United at Camp Nou. He is expected to miss three more games and will expectedly return for the Classico along with Dembele.

Andreas Christensen:

The central defender was suffering from a problem with his ankle, so Xavi opted not to risk him in this match, despite him traveling to Madrid with the team. He will also be available to play in the match against Valencia this weekend.

Thus, most of these essential players will be back within this month as per the recent reports from SPORT. Barring further injuries, this will allow Xavi to field his best possible team at the finishing stages of the season, and get the trophies that the club is vying for.
