FC Barcelona need to be able to keep their players healthy enough to play consistently. A lot of the damage that has come to their season has arrived in the form of unwanted injuries. However, Barcelona have had little success in doing so despite their best intentions.

One of the players who has been quite regularly scarred with injuries during his time at Barcelona has been Ronald Araujo. The Uruguayan defender has not exactly enjoyed the very best of circumstances at times due to injuries, but he has since managed to overcome these problems it seems.

Over the course of the last 31 games in a row, the Barcelona captain has not faced any such issues. The secrets behind this physical turnover, as per his own words, have been highlighted by SPORT. Araujo, talking about his journey through his injuries at Barcelona, first mentioned the start of these problems:

“When I had the first injury, I didn’t heal properly. I didn’t make a good scar, and that was the beginning. It took me time to reverse that situation, but now I feel good.”

He also revealed the changes he has now made to improve his physical condition. “In recent times, I have changed my way of working. I put together a very complete work group and it is giving me quite a few results. I invested in that to be able to improve.”

The Barcelona star also revealed his new work with certain psychologists, and how he did not let his time away from the field go to waste: “I also started working with psychological professionals because of the injuries and because I was out of the field for quite some time.”

This regularity and consistency from the Uruguayan defender has proven to be crucial for Barcelona. His latest display against Victor Osimhen in the tie against Napoli showcased just how crucial he can be.

Thus far this season, the only injury the Uruguayan sustained came against Getafe in the first match of the campaign. Since then, it was a total of seven games that were missed due to his ailment.

However, no new injuries have come up after that, and the only games he has missed or has been rested for were either due to being given some respite or having been sanctioned.
