Three Barcelona gems who wish to follow the footsteps of Lamine Yamal

There are many talented youngsters within the FC Barcelona subsidiary still waiting to make their mark. With their fellow youngsters and aspiring starlets already having made debuts, others also hope to follow their example. For Barcelona, this is nothing but great news.

The youngest of stars to make the world say their names have undoubtedly been Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi. The winger, aged 16, and the central defender, aged 17, already made a big statement against Real Betis in their last game.

However, they will most certainly not be the last of their kind to make such an impact. In fact, as SPORT has highlighted, there are at least three more young starlets in the making already ready to be called up by Xavi whenever the coach feels fit.

The following three gems have been identified by SPORT as being the most likely youngsters aged 16 or younger to make their debut for the FC Barcelona first team. With Xavi now more than willing to give youngsters a chance, all three could be fortunate enough.

Oscar Gistau (15-years-old):

A name previously highlighted here at Barca News Network as a great star in the making, Oscar Gistau already has many fans awaiting his first-team debut. Highlighted as an ‘old fashioned 9’, his qualities and statistics certainly do that justice.

His goal-scoring, shot power, and dominance as a striker are no joke. For Barcelona, his incorporation or debut within the first team only seems like a matter of time.

Quim Junyent (16-years-old):

A very talented midfielder, Quim Junyent has been highlighted as someone possessing the ‘memory of Iniesta’. One of the outstanding players for Spain in the Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia, his passing and vision are noted as being quite special.

An elegant midfielder, he has not let his less-than-powerful physique stop his development. His ability to weave through tight spaces and find the right area to attack are highlighted as key attributes.

Guille Fernandez (15-years-old):

After Lamine Yamal, Guille Fernandez is the youngest Barcelona debutant in UEFA Youth League history. That should be enough evidence of just how much talent he has and the faith Barça have in him. A midfielder remarked as being quite extraordinary, he has power and a physique well above that of his peers.

A goal-scoring specialist from the midfield, his tendency to score is always a welcome quality. Able to overcome opponents with his power and outmuscle them, his leaps always manage to escape the opposition. In fact, his play was so eye-catching, that even Jorge Mendes sought out to make sure he became one of his clients.
