Things continue to go from bad to worse for Barcelona in terms of dealing with injuries. The Catalan giants are already suffering due to the long list of key players that are currently sidelined. However, another name has just recently joined those who are sidelined.

As confirmed officially by FC Barcelona, Sergi Roberto is now among those injured stars. The 31-year-old midfielder is the Catalan team’s first captain this season. Moreover, he offers the Catalan giants a versatile option to count upon in terms of providing depth to different positions.

According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Barcelona has three subsidiary players in mind they can now look to replace him with. Against Athletic Bilbao, one of these three players could end up featuring and helping Barça out.

Marc Casado

The first name is that of versatile 20-year-old midfield starlet Marc Casado. Currently the captain of Barcelona Atletic and their primary pivot, Casado is a well-incorporated star within the subsidiary. A great technical asset, he also possesses the ability to play comfortably both in the midfield and as a fullback as well.

Hector Fort

Another name that Barcelona are keeping an eye on is Hector Fort. Considered to be a great offensive fullback in the subsidiary, SPORT believes he plays similarly to first-team star Joao Cancelo. With his ability to add numbers and creativity in the attack, Fort could be a direct backup option for the right-back position.

‘Trilli’

Lastly, Alvaro Perez Campo is yet another name that could fill in the depth for the right-back position. Usually referred to as ‘Trilli’, the 20-year-old arrived this summer on a two-year contract. His time with Deportivo de la Coruna has greatly shaped him and helped him gain more experience.

Any of the three youngsters in question could end up being called in by Xavi to help add depth to the first team. Regardless of their inexperience, the leap is bound to happen at some point. However, given the injuries within the squad, this may be as good a chance as any for them to feature for the FC Barcelona first team.
