Three key Barcelona players on the verge of Potential Suspension

Heading into this upcoming clash against Girona in La Liga Santander, FC Barcelona has a plethora of players that are one yellow card away from being suspended for their next game against Real Betis.

These three players in question are from different parts of Xavi’s tactical positions on the map. Ronald Araujo from the defense, Sergio Busquets from the midfield, and Ousmane Dembele from amongst the forwards.

In terms of how likely these players are to be booked, there are definitely some variables. Ousmane Dembele is one amongst them that will most likely start yet is not certain to get booked given his position and the lack of necessity to commit dangerous fouls there. On the other hand, Ronald Araujo is someone that will also be likely a starter in this game and plays in quite a vulnerable position in defense where tactical fouls sometimes become a necessity and could lead to garnering bookings.

Lastly, Sergio Busquets is also a potential booking away from a suspension. However, it does seem unlikely that he would be starting this game to give him a rest. In case he does end up playing however, Busquets will need to be extra cautious, as due to his lack of athleticism at times he is known to commit tactical fouls that can result in the occasional yellow card.

The game against Real Betis after this matchup against Girona will be a very difficult fixture and Xavi will want to have his best players available and his strongest eleven at his disposal when the occasion comes.
