FC Barcelona have had players coming through La Masia and breaking into the first team on a regular basis season after season. The latest in a long list of talents to do that is Marc Casado, whose performances have been incredible in recent weeks.
Casado has silently broken into the first team and become indispensable for Hansi Flick. He has looked incredibly at home at the highest level and his performances against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid earned him a lot of plaudits.
Understandably, this has prompted interest from top European clubs. As per Fichajes, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Newcastle United are interested in signing the talented 21-year-old midfield gem.
Casado has been playing at a very high level since the start of this season. He is adept at escaping pressure in midfield and keeping the game’s tempo flowing. He has shown his ability to provide line-breaking passes, as evidenced by his assist to Robert Lewandowski in El Clasico.
Casado has also mastered the art of smartly winning the ball back in midfield, and his slide tackles are almost always on point. Most noticeably, he displays a high football IQ and comes across as a very intelligent player on the field.
According to the report, United sees Casado as the ideal profile to meet Ruben Amorim’s tactical needs. Similarly, Newcastle United and Liverpool have been searching for a ball-winner in midfield, and the Spaniard perfectly fits that profile.
However, Barcelona are not a club to let their talented players leave, especially when they come from La Masia. There is no chance the Catalan club would entertain any offers for their newest crown jewel, regardless of the proposal.
It remains to be seen what Manchester United, Liverpool, and Newcastle United do, to sign Casado. Let’s wait and see how these transfer negotiations play out.
