One of the highlights for FC Barcelona in the last few weeks has been the signing of the promising Brazilian youngster Vitor Roque. While the club has not officially announced his signing, all the reports coming in indicate that this will be made official in the coming few hours.
While this operation for the Brazilian is practically closed, there are still questions about when the player will actually join the club. SPORT reports Laporta’s response to questions about his arrival where the President claimed that Vitor Roque will join when the wage structure of the club allows it.
Further commenting on the subject, Laporta claimed that Vitor Roque’s arrival at FC Barcelona will also be conditioned by the feasibility plan that Barcelona has submitted to La Liga and the Catalan club still needs to make a careful decision as his incorporation can block the addition of more urgently needed players.
As a result, the club is planning to bring Roque to Barcelona only in January 2024. Meanwhile, the player can keep on playing for Atheltico Paranaense, who also want him to stay till the winter so he can help the club in the later stages of the Copa Libertadores. This could also be beneficial for Barcelona as he would gain more maturity and experience before coming to Spain.
Thus, while both FC Barcelona and the player himself are keen to get him in Barcelona and train him with Xavi’s group, everything indicates for now that Roque would join the Catalan club only in the coming winter transfer window.
