Tottenham Hotspur plan to ‘thwart FC Barcelona’s move for Chelsea star –report

N’Golo Kanté is one of the few names linked with a possible move to Camp Nou as a Central Defensive Midfielder, although, his current derby rivals, Tottenham Hotspurs would also like to have his services as their current manager, Antonio Conte, rates the player highly.

N’Golo Kanté’stime at Chelsea may be more than over as the Frenchman failed to agree with Chelsea on a contract extension and now the World Cup winner is set to run down his contract which expires in the summer.

N’Golo Kanté could arrive for free which makes him economically viable and that’s possibly the only reason why he has been linked to the financially restrained FC Barcelona.

As per new reports from Matteo Moretto, the current Spurs coach Antonio Conte likes the idea of having the French superstar in his team, however, the move might be out of his hands. Though the Lilywhites have the advantage of Conte, who has managed Chelsea previously and also brought in Kanté, which puts a shade of ambiguity over the likelihood of this transfer.

Sergio Busquets’s contract is set to expire at the end of this season and FC Barcelona are vigorously pursuing several options to replace their current captain. Sergio Busquets’s form has dipped with the passing years and Barca have had it hard trying to find a like-to-like heir for the Spanish veteran with the growing impatience from the Spotify Camp Nou faithful.

N’Golo Kanté, who was ruled out of the World Cup after suffering an injury seems to be among the defensive midfielders Barca are eyeing to replace Busquets alongside Ruben Neves and Martin Zubimendi as other alternatives for the given role.
