FC Barcelona have to make some sales urgently as there are only three days left in the summer transfer window. Furthermore, the Catalans also have to complete the signing of Joao Cancelo in these remaining days.

The club has a highly stacked forward line currently and wants to offload one of these forwards to somewhat reduce the competition in this area and lower their wage bill. Ansu Fati and Ez Abde are both being considered for a sale or a loan, and it remains to be seen which one of these two will remain at Barcelona for the current season.

Fati wants to remain in Barcelona

Barcelona have been trying to send Fati away from the club for some months now. The Catalans believe that game time is essential for further growth of the player, but Fati would not be able to get this game time at Barcelona because of the excess of forwards present to Xavi.

Fati had previously rejected any move made to take him away from Barcelona. Earlier this summer, his agent, Jorge Mendes, had arranged a move to Wolves, but the Spaniard ended up rejecting the move as he wanted to play and succeed at Barcelona. However, the most recent reports indicate that the player is now more open for a move away from his childhood club.

Tottenham in negotiations for Fati

However, another club has now become interested in the player. According to the reliable journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham are now in negotiations with Barcelona for Fati. The two clubs are negotiating a loan deal that will go through to 2024.

The two clubs have not yet arrived at any consensus about the details of the move, but Romano mentions that Barcelona want Spurs to take on 100% of the player’s wages. Furthermore, Ansu was also offered to Chelsea, but the Blues have not made any formal approach yet.

Tottenham being one of the top clubs in England, there is a higher chance that Fati would agree going to the London side. Several media reports claim that the player is also more open to the idea of leaving Barcelona now, and Tottenham could actually be the destination of the young forward for this season.
