FC Barcelona are still working to address their recurring issues even as the new year has arrived. The Catalan giants have continuously faced signing and registration issues due to their financial restrictions, and that problem remains active even now. However, while these issues persist, Barcelona must maintain normalcy.
That is why, ahead of their upcoming clash against UD Barbastro in the Copa del Rey, the club held their first training session of the year. It was attended by all available players that are not currently sidelined, and it also involved two players who still do not have their future sorted.
As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, both Dani Olmo and Pau Victor participated in the recent group training session under the management of Hansi Flick. Regardless of the ongoing issue with their registration, the club continues to involve them as they normally would.
While it is true that both players are currently not registered with La Liga, Barcelona continues to cling onto the hope that a solution will be found soon. In fact, MD highlights that the Catalan club is optimistic about resolving the matter before Hansi Flick’s upcoming press conference this Friday before the team’s Copa del Rey clash.
Currently, there is a delay that is keeping a lot of things in limbo. As per the same report, the delay stems from the fact that La Liga is still awaiting the confirmation of funds from the sale of the VIP seats, an avenue that the Catalan club has been working on since quite some time. However, Barcelona already submitted the required documentation beforehand and it is now La Liga that needs time to confirm it.
In other news, Lamine Yamal has still not returned to group training despite earlier reports. It appears that Barcelona is taking the path of caution with their young winger and will look to prepare him for the Spanish Super Cup rather than forcing him to return early for the Copa del Rey encounter against Barbastro.
