Several FC Barcelona players have been involved in their national team action, as countries across Europe try to qualify for the UEFA EURO 2024. Another round of matches is scheduled for tonight, which could see even more Barcelona players feature for their national teams.
Last night, new Barcelona forward, Joao Felix, was prominent with his display against Luxembourg, as he scored a great goal. Previously Lewandowski has also been hitting the net with his national Polish side, while Raphinha also made the headlines with Brazil as the South American look to qualify for the next World Cup.
Spain face Cyprus tonight
One important match from Barcelona’s point of view tonight will be between Spain and Cyprus. La Roja will be playing their fourth Euro qualifying match, as they sit second in their pot with six points. Cyprus has yet to register any points in the qualifying round.
Spain are heading into the match in good form, as they thumped Georgia 7-1 in the last match. This victory also featured the debut of Lamine Yamal with the national team, as the Barcelona ace became the youngest player to debut and score with the Spanish national team.
Two Barcelona players to feature in Spain line-up
As reported by SPORT, a number of changes are expected in the Spain team, as Luis de la Fuente is expected to give several youngsters a chance against this relatively weak Cyprus team. One Barcelona player, Alejandro Balde, is likely to start in the place of Gaya.
Similarly, another Barcelona player, Lamine Yamal is expected to start the game in the forward spots, along with another highly rated La Liga forward, Nico Williams.
Ferran Torres was also called up by De la Fuente, but it is unlikely that he will start the match tonight, while Gavi is also expected to start from the bench.
