The transfer window is still quite open for FC Barcelona as they still have some key objectives to meet. La Blaugrana have not exactly had the most success when it comes to meeting their transfer objectives this summer. However, in time, Barcelona hopes to make a more complete squad for this campaign.
That complete squad would involve recovering key injured players while also potentially acquiring new signings. As for what exactly those new signings would be, there is not much to be guaranteed. However, Barcelona do have the name of a certain Portuguese fullback in mind to potentially bring in as a loan player.
Yet, with his name in mind and the recent opportunity given by Hansi Flick to young Gerard Martin, another player is beginning to lose his own prominence. According to Mundo Deportivo, 20-year-old Alex Valle could now see his future at the club be more uncertain than it was before.
Despite having gained a lot of prominence and support for his preseason displays, Alex Valle has seemingly lost his place to Gerard Martin in times of need. During the recent victory over Valencia, Barcelona coach Hansi Flick opted to deploy Gerard Martin to replace Balde rather than make use of Alex Valle.
Moreover, with news that Joao Cancelo could be making a return to Barça this summer at some point, things become even more unpleasant for Valle from the perspective of finding playing time. Yet, with his contract not renewed and the player still not having a first team number, his €3 million release clause would be a low figure to activate for any interested club.
As it stands, both the recent prominence of fellow fullback Gerard Martin and the potential arrival of Joao Cancelo could end up pushing Valle away from the club. However, only time will tell if he is able to regain any semblance of importance under Hansi Flick or if this talented young player will leave Barcelona this summer.
