It is no secret that FC Barcelona were expecting a hectic summer transfer deadline day before the transfer window indefinitely closes until at least January. As a result, having to deal with incoming surprises and urgent operations was something the Catalan giants are hoping to overcome in these final hours.
The developments concerning incoming players such as Joao Cancelo and Joao Felix have been positive in recent hours, as the Portuguese duo have already arrived in Barcelona.
However, one particular deal that is still hanging in the balance is that of 21-year-old Moroccan winger Ez Abde. The winger has been edging closer to leaving Barcelona these past few days and the most prominent of interest in him was taken by La Liga outfit Real Betis.
In the latest update, as per journalist Alfredo Martinez, the Barcelona winger has invited interest from two English Premier League clubs. The clubs in question are Nottingham Forest and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
While earlier reports suggested that Betis and Barca had even reached an agreement for the 21-year-old worth €10 million for taking over 50% of his rights, it seems that this new urgent interest could look to offer even more drama in this saga during the final hours of the window.
CA Osasuna, where Abde spent last season on loan and properly cemented his name as a promising talent, are also apparently in the running to get Abde on a permanent deal or possibly another loan, but their option has gradually gone cold.
With only a few hours left for all European transfers to conclude, Barcelona will have to check in with Abde and finalize where exactly he wishes to end up this season in case his departure ends up taking place. For now, the Abde operation remains open in every sense of the word.
