In the last few weeks, FC Barcelona have been concentrating most of their attention on ensuring the long-term presence of some of their players going forward.
In this regard, they have already shown they mean business by successfully completing the renewals of players like Ronald Araujo, Pedri, and Gavi.
Now, another player has entered this list, as the young defender Pau Cubarsi renewed his contract with the Blaugrana club today, which will keep him tied to Barcelona till 2029.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the youngster talked to the Catalan club’s media after securing this renewal and expressed his happiness:
“Very happy to renew with the club of my life, the club that has given me everything… it is a pride to be tied to this club for a few more years.”
The La Masia graduate expressed his gratitude to a number of individuals on this event:
“They are experiences that I’m glad to have gone through… my family has always supported me and been by my side… The journey has felt short. Both my teammates and the staff have helped me in every way and shaped me into the player I am today… I thank them for everything they have given me.”
Cubarsi also revealed his simple aspirations with the Blaugrana team:
“To come here and enjoy wearing this jersey, which is the best in the world, and then whatever comes next will be a result of my game. [I have] all the ambition in the world because this club demands it—to win every match, every possible title and that’s what we will try to do.”
The defender also highlighted how it feels to be a Barcelona player:
“Whether in good times or bad, we will always give our all on the field. [Being a Barça player] is an incredible feeling that cannot be put into words.”
There is no doubt that this was a very exciting day for the young center-back. However, this must have also been quite an exciting day for the Barcelona fans as they can now rest assured that they will continue to see him showcase his amazing abilities in the blue and garnet shirt for several more years to come.
