FC Barcelona will now look to take on their final challenge before they have to leave the United States of America. Having already faced Manchester City and Real Madrid, the Catalan giants already have two impressive victories under their belt. However, the final opponent for Barcelona on this preseason tour will be AC Milan.
The Italian side is the final hurdle that Barça must overcome before their preseason tour comes to an end. While this match will not guarantee any silverware, it is still a good way to end a rather successful tour. Against such a formidable side, Barcelona and Hansi Flick could look to field a strong eleven.
Here is how Barcelona could line up against AC Milan.
Expected Line-up:
Goalkeeper: Marc-Andre Ter Stegen
The German goalkeeper played 65 minutes last time out, and with Hansi Flick possibly wanting his first team players to get match-fit as soon as possible, he could once again get the start.
Left-back: Alejandro Balde
The electric left-back for Barcelona has finally returned to full fitness. He has shown great quality and consistency so far over the course of the preseason and he will likely get another chance against the Serie A side.
Centre-back: Inigo Martinez
Combining both strength and experience, Inigo Martinez continues to showcase why he can be important for Hansi Flick. His position in the starting eleven for this game could already be settled.
Centre-back: Andreas Christensen
Alongside Martinez, Andreas Christensen is another player who combines technicality with his physical prowess. His presence is always welcome in any Barcelona eleven, and against a side like AC Milan, he could be useful.
Right-back: Alex Valle
The unsung hero of the game against Real Madrid, both of the goals that Barça scored were essentially assisted by Alex Valle. In fact, he has managed to impress Barcelona so much that a possible renewal seems to be in the plans for him.
CDM: Marc Casado
One of the two La Masia defensive midfielders that Hansi Flick has been placing his utmost faith in, Marc Casado’s leadership and mentality have made him a pure unit within this Barcelona team. It seems unlikely that he will not start against AC Milan either after his impressive performance against Real Madrid.
CDM: Marc Bernal
Whenever Marc Bernal has played during this tour, his presence has been felt. Many are now comparing him to a former Barcelona midfield icon, but the player continues to showcase his strengths day by day.
LAM: Pau Victor
The hero of the last win over Real Madrid, Pau Victor has thus far scored three goals in two games. It seems highly unlikely that Hansi Flick will rob him of the chance to add even more goals to that tally.
CAM: Ilkay Gundogan
Last time out, Ilkay Gundogan came into the game during the second half. This time around, however, there is a chance that the veteran midfielder could end up starting from the very beginning.
RAM: Raphinha
Similar to Gundogan, Brazilian winger Raphinha played just the second half against Real Madrid. In this game against AC Milan, he will be hoping to get an early start.
Centre-forward: Robert Lewandowski
Providing an assist last time out to Pau Victor was Robert Lewandowski’s best contribution in the recent game against Real Madrid. This time around, however, he will want to do more.
