Just 18 years old and already the source of much excitement in a football-hungry country, Roque has it all to succeed. Yet, despite his massive talent and the huge fan following he now has, he remains humble. Vitor Roque clearly identifies with and respects the allure of FC Barcelona. Paying homage and tribute to his other teammates, he had several things to say when talking about them with Mundo Deportivo.
Asked if the change in the quality of players around him will be impactful and if it ‘sounds good’, the player responded:
“It sounds very good. Even better.”
He was then questioned about the adaptation process. Knowing that he will be playing with the best of the best, it should be easier for him. He replied:
“Certainly. I’m sure the adaptation will be very easy. I will work every day to the maximum to adapt as quickly as possible. Playing alongside the best in the world and being part of a club like that, I think things will be easier in terms of adaptation.”
Lastly, the player was then asked about the stars he looked most forward to playing alongside. The Brazilian prodigy named three Barcelona stars that came to his mind:
“Yes, Lewandowski, Raphinha, now Lamine. It’s going to be very special to play with all of them.”
Robert Lewandowski will likely be a direct mentor for the young talent. One of the greatest number 9s of his generation, he could surely help Roque out a lot. Raphinha, on the other hand, is one of the only Brazilians there at Barcelona. His help in adapting to Barcelona could be crucial for Vitor Roque.
And finally, the name of Lamine Yamal was also included. One of the most outstanding young talents in world football, Yamal has become a sensation. His quality at his age is unheard of, and Roque is just one of the many people who are in awe of his capabilities.
