Any and all that manage to make their way to FC Barcelona often come with high aspirations. The club based in Catalonia has achieved great success throughout its existence and continues to aim higher. For this reason, the players that Barcelona bets on also need to have such aspirations.
The latest arrival for Barcelona, Vitor Roque, is no different. Despite having just arrived recently, those within Barcelona already have great expectations when it comes to their latest signing. Fortunately, they seem to be in luck, as the player also has a great desire to win with La Blaugrana.
As highlighted by Mundo Deportivo, Roque talked about his greatest dreams and aspirations. When it comes to FC Barcelona, the prodigious striker is very clear about his ultimate goal: “I’m clear about this: winning the Champions League would be my greatest dream.”
Furthermore, the player is not one to hide his excitement either. His hopes for his time at Barcelona go beyond just one title: “I’m eager to do things well and win as much as possible with Barça. I’m looking forward to learning and enjoying alongside the best in the world.”
Interestingly, while Roque acknowledges all his new teammates as being exceptional players, he remains particularly excited to play with a certain attacking icon in the football world: “Yes, of course. They’re all very good, but I’m really looking forward to playing with Lewandowski. And, of course, also with Raphinha. I’ll be fulfilling a dream.”
Rather coincidentally, he is also placed between both those icons of his within the locker room placement as well. He also acknowledged his desire to become a Barcelona player, and how that dream has finally become a reality that he could not believe earlier:
“At first, I couldn’t believe it. After a while, things became serious. I talked to my father, and when it was confirmed, I was very happy because it made my dream come true. I’ve been a Barça fan all my life. It was my only option.”
“It’s the best club in the world, and playing here has always been my dream. Great idols like Romario or Neymar have also been part of this team, leaving their mark in history. It will be a pleasure to defend this shirt.”
However, when asked about the pressure of now being at Barcelona, Roque was adamant about his mentality: “I’m calm. I try not to overthink, and not to go too far. I just want to help the club as much as I can to win all possible titles.”
With the Brazilian now incorporated, Barcelona could look to turn away from their goal-scoring woes. Their next official game is against UD Las Palmas, and if everything goes to plan, it could be Roque’s destiny to debut right there.
