FC Barcelona still have a long season ahead of them despite having gotten off to a positive start. The Catalan giants are aware of the extensive and exhaustive calendar for this campaign, and they must manage accordingly. However, beyond just La Liga, Barcelona also have other competitions to focus on.

The major one that most fans would be looking forward to is the UEFA Champions League. An objective for almost every top-level European club, it is especially important to Barcelona every season regardless of the fact that recent campaigns have not exactly been the most successful.

However, from this season onwards, the format of the competition will be changing. Typically consisting of a group stage format that includes six total games against three other opponents in matches that are conducted both home and away, the format for this season will see each club compete in eight games to get through the group stage.

As for the dates of the games themselves, Mundo Deportivo has now revealed that information as well. The first round of group stage matches in the UEFA Champions League will be conducted from the 17th of September until the 19th of September.

After that, the second and third games of the group stage will take place from the 1st of October and the 22nd of October for the third game. November will then be the month for the next two games of the competition, both the 5th and the 26th of the month will bring about the fourth and fifth games respectively.

December will then have only one game for each club, with the 10th and 11th of the month being the dates for that one round of fixtures. Lastly, in January, Barcelona and other teams will play out their remaining two fixtures before the knockout stage begins in March of next year.

As for when Barcelona will find out about who they will face in the upcoming group stage, all will be revealed on the upcoming 29th of August. Soon after, La Blaugrana will have a better idea of what to expect of their opponents in the upcoming fixtures that will take off from the next month.
