Now, as per the latest information provided by Mundo Deportivo, it seems that another key Barcelona figure thinks the same way. According to new Sporting Director Deco, Xavi’s words resonate well within the Barcelona offices and locker room given that many believe that it is the most demanding club in the world:

“We are in the most demanding club in the world, just as Xavi says because it’s not enough to just win; good football is also demanded. Xavi knows it himself.”

On the same page

Despite some reports suggesting possible differences between the heads within the Barcelona hierarchy, it now appears that Xavi and Deco are on the same page. Their objective remains to do whatever is in the best interests of the Catalan club and how to get there.

Deco also spoke about 16-year-old La Masia prodigy Lamine Yamal prior to the Granada game. The former Portuguese player did however make it clear that no additional pressure on Yamal was needed and that he must be allowed to play with his own spirit and have fun:

“Lamine has to have fun, and be happy, and the goals will come naturally.”

Lo and behold, the youngster would end up creating history against Granada itself. Becoming the youngest-ever goalscorer in La Liga history, Yamal’s goal would also prove to be key in Barca’s comeback from being 2-0 down.
