FC Barcelona are looking to continue their progression this season as they finally regain their winning momentum. Xavi’s team is no longer limping, and seems to have realized the strides they are capable of. However, Barcelona can still use all the help they can get, especially from their own divisions.
Beyond just the first team, Barcelona has regularly called upon their aspiring starlets this season to aid their objectives. Gems like Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Fermin Lopez, Hector Fort, Marc Guiu, and others have risen to the occasion whenever they have been called upon by Xavi to serve the first team.
Now, as more and more young names begin to get their chance, Xavi seems to be ready to trust yet another name making waves in the quarry. Quim Junyent, aged 16, is a midfielder of great quality and one who made waves in the Spanish Under-17 team as well during their category’s FIFA World Cup.
As highlighted by SPORT, Junyent was one of the lucky few trusted by Xavi to take part in the latest recovery session. Following the convincing victory against Getafe, Barcelona players took part in their regular recovery session after the game.
Junyent was among the players trusted to take part in that session, alongside a few other talented players such as Moha and Diego Kochen from the subsidiary. The midfielder, however, was easily the pick of the bunch due to the promise that is expected of him.
A player of short stature, he possesses the technical brilliance and mobility that is often associated with midfielders from Barcelona. Beyond just being a creative monster in his own right, he is also a lethal figure when it comes to taking the final strike in front of goal.
During the World Cup, he was easily one of Spain’s most brilliant talents on display. He also scored two goals and provided one assist in the tournament before falling, alongside his entire team, to Noah Darvich and his Germany National team who would eventually end up winning the entire tournament.
